The breathwork paradox

The breath has the power to do a multitude of things to our physiology. Through our own study and practice, we have realised the importance of both, breathing more and breathing less, which has led us to create a unique blend of techniques, exercises and strategies to help you unlock your full potential.

I’m the kind of girl who enjoys listening to hip hop and instead of perfecting my downward facing dog I prefer to out lift the men at the gym. I despise conversations about the weather and would much rather exchange our deepest, darkest secrets.

I had a challenging childhood (relatable for most!). I built an armour so thick nothing could affect me. Everything was always - COOL. Then at the age of 16 my numb-ass decided to pursue an acting career. I did not see the absurdity back then.

It was actually through acting that I started to understand myself more. Instead of taking part in a scene study class it felt more like a self study class. By being immersed in creative arts I began to ask the right questions. Unfortunately, these questions were too ā€˜intense’ for most. Why would one want to know the meaning of life?

My gemini tendencies led me to live a dual life. One moment I was immersed in my career and the next I was jumping on a plane to escape it all for months at a time. One moment I’m on a verge of a burnout, the next I’m doing breathwork in the Mexican jungle.

After my second breathwork session I knew I wanted to teach it to others.  After a few weeks of practising I realised that I had been living outside of my body my whole life. I was very good at talking about my emotions but I wasn’t very good at feeling them. After a few months of practising I started to connect with the world again. Fast forward to present day and I’m living out my life’s purpose.

My curiosity led me to transform my life. Now I’m on a mission to help others to do the same.

ā€œThe man who thought numbing his feelings with jokes would workā€

I used to believe that I could fix everything by constantly thinking and analysing. However, the more time I spent in my head trying to navigate life, the more chaos it created within me.

As I journeyed through life, I struggled with persistent patterns of the feeling that I'm not being good enough and the tendency to prioritise other people's needs, often at the expense of my own well-being.

By the age of 20, I had created a vast collection of masks, each carefully chosen to adapt to various social settings—be it with family, friends, or romantic partners. Once my arsenal of jokes ran dry as a means to hide my emotions, I realised I wasn't feeling good at all.

The only way for me to avoid my feelings, was through work.

So, I threw myself into it — I excelled at work and kept myself constantly occupied to avoid facing my thoughts or emotions. However, this relentless pursuit eventually led to a cascade of injuries, reaching a point where the one activity I loved most, sports, became joyless.

After years of being stuck in this pattern, I attended my first breathwork session and EVERYTHING CHANGED!

Regular breathwork practice made me realise the depth of emotions I had repressed and how little I knew about myself. Suddenly, all of the physical manifestations of these unprocessed emotions started to disappear, accelerating my journey to self-acceptance.

I am finally experiencing life as the truest and most authentic version of myself.

Looking back at myself before breathwork it feels like I was asleep to life, but now I’m wide awake and ready to wake YOU up too.
